A seat at the table: setting the benchmark for the retail sector in New Zealand with Foodstuffs.
Foodstuffs, is a 100% New Zealand owned co-operative of local grocers, who own and operate store under the New World, PAK'nSAVE and Four Square brands. Foodstuffs engaged All is for All to deliver comprehensive research on the disabled grocery shopper in Aotearoa, New Zealand.
Grounded in the core disability inclusion principle of ‘Nothing about us, without us’, we carried out multidisciplinary research with people from regional, metropolitan, rural, and marginalised groups. This included in-store observation sessions, a nationwide survey, and focus groups with the likes of tāngata whaikaha Māori, neurodivergent, Deaf and learning disabled voices.
From this, we developed a complete, evidence-based roadmap that covered the entire customer journey — from home, to checkout and departure. As a result, Foodstuffs now has a national, evidence-based blueprint for inclusive design across its co-operative. A document that broadens and protects its customer base, while positioning the co-op as the authentic market leader in inclusive grocery retail in Aotearoa.
"As a customer-focused retailer committed to making a positive impact on our customers’ lives, we aim to meet the needs of all customers; ensuring that everyone, regardless of ability, can independently and successfully navigate the shopping experience.
Working with the All is for All team has been unforgettable - their open, collaborative approach was a game changer, and their genuine passion and drive have positioned us to deliver meaningful, lasting improvements for all."
