To me, content creation is about forging genuine connections. My own journey with content creation started after my first child. I felt isolated at home, was recovering, and navigating life with a newborn; I felt lonely and lost. Social media became my vital link to the outside world. It helped me find solidarity and community.
As I developed my skills, I realised this platform could be about more than making friends; it could be about advocacy. As a disabled person and a parent of a neurodivergent child, the world can feel incredibly isolating. Dealing with anxiety, chronic endometriosis, or migraines makes simply leaving the house sometimes feel monumental. I began using my platforms as a digital diary.
When I did this, I soon realised I wasn't alone. We were all struggling in our own ways, but we were together. I wanted to share the world that content creation opened up for me, with others.
As part of the talent agency of All is for All, the team have created content creation opportunities; like for Sport New Zealand, Meaningful Mahi and Census. Our talent agency is a huge part of how we give back to our community; and we always want to extend more opportunities. So we reached out to the team at CreatorCon, a leading event for creators.
CreatorCon - our experience

Kylee, Chelsea, Ellen and Natalie

We were so pleased to support CreatorCon to begin their accessibility journey. In a tight turn around, they committed to doing what they could and supporting disabled creators to attend. The CreatorCon team genuinely wanted us all to connect, and we had a brilliant experience, which included a quiet zone for those who needed it, and recognition of Sunflower Lanyards. Most importantly, it enabled disabled creators to access learning and networking opportunities, so more from our community can get their first rungs on the ladder.
Thank you so much to the team at CreatorCon.
We also know, that disabled people are often connected to their community, and so in my experience when a disabled creator genuinely loves a product, the community listens, and this makes a commercial impact. Disabled people, are important content creators to include, for brands to reach the whole of Aotearoa and a connected audience.
